  • WHAT IS SEA MOSS

Sea Moss is a generic name for many different species of seaweed. It goes by several different botanical names, but the most popular species on the market today are Eucheuma Cottonii, Gracilaria, and Chrondus Crispus. These are all referred to as Sea Moss but are very different looking from each other. All three are very good for you, have 92 minerals, and commonly get mistaken for each other. To claim one is better than the other is a marketing scam.

What should be the real concern is if its pool grown. Sea Moss naturally grows in the ocean between rocks or farms tend to grow it in the ocean on ropes. The movement of the ocean and the natural salts are what makes this product so dense in minerals and what makes it even considered a super food. So please be sure you are buying real Sea Moss.

  • HOW DO I USE SEA MOSS

Sea Moss is commonly added to any type of dish. It is a great emulsifier and a great replacement to gelatin. I personally use 1 -2 tablespoons of Sea Moss in my smoothies, smoothie bowls, juices, coffee, desserts, sauces, plant based ice creams, and soups. Sea Moss is best consumed raw, so I personally don't cook with it.

One of my favorite uses for it is as a facemask. You just take a tablespoon, and massage into your skin. Let it sit and dry, then rinse it off. It’s very hydrating with the consistency of Aloe Vera or jello. It helps to relieve eczema, psoriasis, and sun burns. If you want youthful, hydrated skin, use this 2-3 times a week.

Lastly, use Sea Moss in your hair 1-2 times a week. Just massage 2-4 tablespoons into your hair for 15 minutes, then rinse. Use enough to cover your hair from scalp to end. It helps to tame fizziness’, and makes your hair softer. It’s great for dry, brittle hair because it’s super hydrating.
